God's Blessing

“You are to remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, in order to confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.” - Deuteronomy 8:18 NASB

God’s blessings are given to those who are obedient to His commands.

What was God’s desire for His people? Before they entered the Promised Land, Moses taught them that God “is giving you power to make wealth.” The key to receiving this wealth was not their own action or ability but obeying and trusting in the Lord.

The Hebrew word translated as “wealth” indicates that God wanted them to have “strength, efficiency, wealth, army” (Strong’s Concordance). This included military might…personal valor and strength…and financial prosperity.

These same principles are repeated throughout the Bible. For example, we read: “His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3).

God wants to bless us and grant us abundance in every area of our lives. Some people may have a hard time believing these truths, but this is what God’s Word declares.

Many people limit God because of negative thinking. Allowing doubt to fill their hearts and minds, they simply cannot believe that God’s promises are true. They’ve grown so used to expecting problems that they doubt God can bless and prosper them. But God’s promises remain true.

Today, take the limits off your thinking. You serve the Creator of the universe! Look to Him to meet your needs. Trust and obey Him. He promises to give you the “power to make wealth.”

Lord, thank You for Your desire to bless me with abundance. Forgive me for doubting You. Now, I look to You for all I need. In Yeshua’s Name…Amen.
