Tell the Good News About Jesus

Then Philip explained to the man the words that Isaiah had written. Then he went on to tell him the good news about Jesus. Acts 8:35 EASY

There are many today who are searching for answers. They may have heard about God, but they do not know Him and do not truly understand who God is.  Though they have all their material needs met, though they have wealth, there is still a void. They do not have peace. They know that something is missing.

As believers of Christ, we have been commissioned by the Lord to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Then Jesus said to them, ‘Go to all people everywhere in the world. Tell God's good news to everyone’, Mark 16:15 EASY. Jesus said, ‘GO!’ Are we obeying the command of the Lord? In Acts 8:26, the angel of the Lord said to Philip, ‘go south to the road between Jerusalem and Gaza which goes through the wilderness.’ Philip received a command, with specific instructions from the Lord and he obeyed.

Scripture tells us that Philip started on his journey. While he was going along this road, he met an important officer from Ethiopia. This man had authority over the queen of Ethiopia's money. The queen was called Candace. The officer was travelling home from Jerusalem. He had been there to worship God, Acts 8:26-27 EASY. Though the officer worshipped God, he did not have the knowledge and understanding of God’s gift of salvation, Jesus Christ.

God used Philip to bring enlightenment and revelation to the officer of who Jesus is. Philip did not speak to the officer about himself or any other topic. He shared the good news of Jesus with him. The truth is, only Jesus saves. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, Romans 10:13 KJV. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me, John 14:6 KJV. The officer received revelation and insight into who Jesus is and was baptized by Philip.

Will we make ourselves available to the Lord? Will we obey Him and go where He sends us? Are we sharing the good news of Jesus or are we talking about ourselves or things that are temporal? People need to hear the good news of Jesus, the One who loves them. The One who died for them. The One who saves, delivers and sets people free. I solemnly urge you to go and tell the good news of Jesus.
