I lie awake thinking of You, meditating on You through the night. Because You are my Helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings. Psalms 63:6-7
It is so important to develop a relationship with our heavenly Father. I love the fact that we can talk to Him anywhere and at any time. We do not need an appointment. He is so, so good to us. He has done so much for us and continues to do so much as any loving Father would.
When we commune with Him, it’s not always about asking for something. At times it is very satisfying just to reflect on or as the scripture says, think and meditate on Him. When you look back over your life you can see His deep love for you, how God came through for you, how He delivered you, how He provided for you, His protection over your life, you find yourself singing songs of gratitude to Him. As you lie awake and think of His great love for you, your heart becomes full, and you express your love back to Him in song. You may even burst forth in praise for the many battles you have won.
As you lie awake you meditate on His words to you. His words that say, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. His words that say, you are the apple of His eyes. His words that say, He will never leave you or forsake you. There are so many words He has spoken to us in the written word.
Take sometime today and think of Him, meditate on Him, reflect on who He is to you. I’m sure you will burst forth with a sacrifice of praise on your lips and your heart will rejoice.I lie awake thinking of You, meditating on You through the night.
