She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. - John 8:11 KJV
Jesus was very direct and clear with His message. His message was love for God and love for people. Love was the reason Jesus came. For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, John 3:16 KJV.
Everywhere Jesus went He demonstrated the love of God. During His time on earth, the religious leaders had a problem with Jesus. They could not understand why He associated Himself with sinners. One such demonstration of His love, was when the woman was caught in the very act of adultery. They all expected Him to say, stone her. Instead, Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So, when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again, he stooped down, and wrote on the ground, John 8:6-8 KJV.
Jesus did not tolerate sin, neither did He condemn those whom He encountered that lived a life of sin. He offered them hope. He offered them a new way of life, one free from sin. He offered them Himself. He knew the heart of the Father for humanity and the reason He came to earth. It was to love and not to condemn. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved, John 3:17 KJV.
Do you feel condemned? Are you being judged by others because of your sins, past or present? Know that Jesus does not condemn you and that your sins can be forgiven; that you do not have to live a life of sin. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners, Romans 5:8 TLB.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank You that You have not condemned me because of the things that I have done. I know that you love me, and I now confess my sins and ask You to forgive me of my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I invite You into my heart and life to be my Savior. Thank You for loving me, even when I was a sinner. No longer will I live a life of sin but live for You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
